Arbutin, also known as arbutin, is extracted from the leaves of the bear fruit. Arbutin, belonging to hydroquinone glucoside compounds, namely, glucosylated derivatives of hydroquinone, is a kind of natural active ingredient, has certain physiological functions, and widely exists in animals, plants and microbial cells. The preparation of α-arbutin is obtained through the conversion of sugars by microbial enzymes.
Function
Alpha-Arbutin, similar to Beta-Arbutin, can inhibit and reduce the formation and deposition of pigments. Studies have shown that Alpha-arbutin can reduce the activity of tyrosinase at relatively low concentrations, and its inhibitory effect on tyrosinase is better than that of Beta-arbutin.
